He added that two times will be dedicated during the week for students to learn the skills of dealing with others, teamwork, empathy, tolerance and acceptance of others.

According to the Minister, socio-emotional learning is the most important pillar of education and will be introduced in the different stages of teaching, which would strengthen the construction of a tolerant and understanding personality.

Moreover, he clarified that they will focus more on manual, technical and sports skills, in addition to promoting music and art and integrating them into the teaching process.

‘Our young people achieved outstanding results in international scientific competitions, but they are not qualified for the physical ones, and therefore, it was decided to dedicate more interest and spaces to sport and establish it as a basic subject,’ al-Tabaa said.

According to official data, more than 3,8 million minors will begin the school year on September 5th in 13,280 schools throughout Syria.
