Kazakh Deputy Energy Minister Zhumabay Karagayev considered that the introduction of that tax by the community bloc will negatively affect the oil and gas sector, TASS news agency informed.
Karagayev confirmed that at this time, his country’s main exports are directed to the EU countries, but stressed that ‘there are alternative routes to supply carbon raw materials: China or Southeast Asian countries.’
The European Commission (EC) recently proposed a comprehensive action plan for the complete elimination of carbon emissions in the EU by 2050, which will require a complete restructuring of the bloc’s economy, according to specialists.
