Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh recommended that the Tel Aviv regime should avoid its false claims regarding an attack on the Mercer Street oil tanker off Oman coast.

Khatibzadeh described successive incidents against navigation safety in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman as suspicious, over which the United States, the United Kingdom and Israel try to create a vicious atmosphere with political purposes.

Iran, on the contrary, he said, aspires to establish a safe atmosphere in the maritime transportation and its naval forces are ready to provide support whichever needs it.

In any case, Iran’s mission to the UN warned the Security Council of the consequences of a possible Israeli adventurism in West Asia.
