Pierrat, as he was known, was working as editor, and during his working life held various managing positions at the headquarters and as a foreign correspondent, along with his wife, Nancy Zamora, who was also a journalist for Prensa Latina.
In this regard, he served in offices in Romania, France, Spain, China, Nicaragua, Venezuela, El Salvador and Bolivia, and covered several Ibero-American summits and Non-Aligned Countries conferences, among many other international events as a special envoy.
His meritorious work for almost five decades earned him the Award for the Work of a Lifetime (2019) that the news agency has granted every year since 2017.
He also worked in the commercial section of Prensa Latina and in the preparation of important publications produced by the news agency.
In all these posts, he stood out for his efficiency, devotion and excellent personal relationships with his colleagues.
His death had deep impact on young journalists, who highlight the lessons they received from their professional relationship with Pierrat, in both his role as an editor and as a foreign correspondent.
