During a telephone conversation on Wednesday with his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio, Shoukry expressed Cairo’s support to the measures taken by Saied ‘to protect the state institutions and overcome the current critical situation.’
Egypt trusts in Saied’s wisdom and his ability to lead this constitutional path in stable steps, the minister said, quoted by the Foreign Ministry’s report.
Some few days ago, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs supported the ‘legitimate aspirations’ of the Tunisian people and offered its collaboration to Saied.
During the conversation, both foreign ministers also addressed the situation in Libya, a country Di Maio visited on Tuesday.
