The project should be concluded in 2022 and will take advantage of the experience by the National Research Computer Network of Russia (NIKS), the Ministry explained on its Telegram channel.
With the creation of the new unified digital infrastructure, the scientific institutes and universities of the EAEU member nations will be capable of participating more actively in the global and European scientific communities, the Ministry noted.
The network will facilitate access of scientists to new technologies and greater resources, research results by specialists from other countries, databases of specialized organizations and digital services of the EAEU member States.
The Ministry of Education and Science created the NIKS in 2019 and placed it under the administration of the Interregional SuperComputer Center at the Russian Academy of Sciences.
