Cuban residents in Belgium urge EU to condemn US attacks on Cuba

Brussels, Aug 4 (Prensa Latina) The Association of Cuban Residents in Belgium urged the European Union (EU) to condemn the United States attacks and repudiate manipulations and media war against Cuba, diplomatic sources reported on Wednesday.

In a letter to the high representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, the organization asked the community bloc to denounce the destabilizing actions against Cuba.

In addition, they asked the EU to join the global campaign against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington for six decades on Cuba. We are concerned about how easily European media reproduce fake news about Cuba in order to create a negative perception. The EU must denounce the attempts by the US Government to produce a social outbreak in Cuba, the letter said.

In addition, they asked the European bloc to guarantee the protection and security of Cuban diplomats in all 27 member States, especially after the terrorist attack on the Cuban Embassy in France.
