Cuba reports 9,629 Covid-19 cases and 80 deaths

Havana, Aug 3 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) on Tuesday reported 9,629 new contagions with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, and 80 deaths in the past few hours due to complications from the disease.

At his daily morning briefing on television, the national director of Epidemiology at MINSAP, Dr. Francisco Duran, pointed out that the total number of Covid-19 cases has risen to 413,251 and the death toll has soared to 2,993, since March 11, 2020.

In addition, 95,349 people are in hospitals or at home, 45,212 of whom are suspected cases, 4,171 are under epidemiological surveillance, and 45,966 are active cases.

In order to detect the coronavirus, 39,294 PCR tests were performed on Monday, totaling 6,648,722 since the pandemic broke out in Cuba.
