China’s National Health Commission reported that local infections come from Beijing, Shanghai and the provinces of Hunan, Hubei, Henan, Fujian, Yunnan and Jiangsu.
The latter province is once again the most affected, accounting for 45 new patients. In fact, the capital, Nanjing, is the nidus of the current Covid-19 resurgence.
Apart from the autochthonous patients, China reported 29 imported cases and 41 asymptomatic patients in different provinces on Tuesday.
These figures bring the total of deaths in China to at least 5,637, and the cases in the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to 120,944 since the emergence of the disease in December 2019.
In addition, 499 asymptomatic patients are under medical care.
The outbreak keeps authorities on alert, continues to expand and even reached Wuhan, which ordered PCR tests for its entire population.
