The spokesperson of France’s Foreign Ministry, Agnes Von Der Muhll, on Friday rejected what she called the ‘bloody offensive’ of the government forces in Deraa’s southern province, noting that ‘Syria’s tragedy would not end with military solutions but with a political process that enjoys credibility.’
Those statements, according to a press release from Syria’s Foreign Ministry, are based on lies, hypocrisy and misinformation about what is happening in Syria.
France continues providing material and media support to terrorist and separatist groups, in flagrant violation of all Security Council resolutions that call for respecting Syria’s unity and territorial integrity, the diplomat denounced.
On Deraa’s current situation, the press release referred that the government is facing it with the highest degrees of self-restraint and without resorting to violence.
The Syrian government has the greatest interest in its people and in stabilizing the situation. Those statements like others issued earlier by the French government are discredited by the Syrian people, and their fate is the trash can, the spokesperson concluded.
A tense situation prevails in Deraa after extremist groups refused to surrender their weapons, prompting the Syrian government to send efforts to start a military operation aimed at establishing state authority and eradicating the illegal presence of weapons in that southern province.
