According to an official communiqué, Kim, who is also the secretary general of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), stressed that the event is another important milestone to strengthen the revolutionary armed forces.

The Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the WPK organized the workshop for military commanders and political cadres of the entire Army with the purpose of raising the military and political power of the KPA.

The aim is that the military and political cadres understand the important strategic ideas and military tactics of the Central Committee of the Party, as well as the direction and guidelines on the construction of the Army, appropriate to the demands of the changed situation, the organizers stated.

Commanders and political commissars of all kinds of army, corps, divisions, brigades and regiments of the KPA participated in the workshop.
