In a meeting with Belorussian President Alexandr Lukashenko and representatives of local authorities, Jrenin called the attention to the periodic violations of the country’s air borders.
‘Only from April to June there were three. In addition, there is high activity in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles by border guards and units of the Armed Forces of neighboring countries’, he warned, according to TASS news agency.
He considered that such measures may be part of preparations for provocative actions in the border areas, in order to produce new media-interesting events to discredit Belarus.
The Defense Minister warned that the political and military situation throughout the country remains complex. ‘The West, represented by the United States and the European Union, continues in attempts to create conditions to dictate its will to us. Pressure continues in the political, information and economic fields’, he said.
Jrenin emphasized that NATO continues intelligence actions against the country, while training Armed Forces of the Alliance members in the territory of neighboring states.
In this regard, he denounced the deployment of additional electronic intelligence posts near the Belorussian state border and Polish special units are exploring common border areas.
