The president of the Sri Lankan organization, K. R. D. C. Rathnamudali, and Asitha Dias, its secretary, expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to take university studies in Cuba and put their knowledge at the service of their people.

During the meeting, they repeated their traditional solidarity with Cuba at this time when the United States has tightened its over-60-year-old illegal and inhumane economic blockade and its ongoing aggression against the Caribbean nation.
