In a letter sent to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Secretary-General, Arevich asked that organization to act to halt these hostile actions on Cuba, which are contrary to ITU´s principles.
Likewise, she required ITU to urge the United States to stop and prevent unlawful technology used in its campaign against Cuba.
The letter reiterates the rejection of unilateral coercive measures on Cuba, the use of social networks to promote hatred speech, to call for violent actions and encourage subversion.
Similarly, the text condemned fake news dissemination and misrepresentation of reality for political purposes, which they try to use as pretext to touch off a military intervention.
It also recalled that public disorder maneuvers have been conducted since the end of 2020, and tightened as of June 15, 2021, by using technological platforms from separate companies including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
These companies allowed operations that violated their own policies and proceedings, the document read, while adding that many of the incidents were rolled out from accounts and devices under US jurisdiction.
