Salvadoran Defense Minister Rene Merino said at a press conference that three foreign citizens were arrested: one from Colombia and two from Ecuador.

The boat carrying the drugs was intercepted 319 nautical miles off the coast of Acajutla (west), as it was heading to Guatemala.

‘Since the Territorial Control Plan began, we have seized more than 6,500 kilograms of cocaine and we have arrested some 1,500 people,’ the director of the National Civil Police, Mauricio Arriaza Chicas, said.
