According to information published in the Adelante website, at the end of June, the members of the Base Business Unit in Camagüey had overfulfilled the production plan for the first half of the year by more than 196 tons.
The website noted that ‘the timely transhumance of the hives to places where there was a better flowering and rains in the coastal lands of the north of the territory, allowed achieving the aforementioned production, since the nectary flow was favored and the bees were better fed.’
According to official records from the Ministry of Agriculture in this eastern territory of the country, when the first quarter of the year ended, honey exports added income of more than eight million dollars, higher than the 4,905,600 tons planned for that period.
