That department issued the orange alert, the second highest in a four-tier warning system, and detailed that the phenomenon is gaining strength as it moves northwest at 15 kilometers per hour, it must make landfall between Sunday and Monday and it will affect, to a greater extent, the demarcations of Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Shanxi, Shaanxi and Taiwan.

The Chinese Government mobilized thousands of rescuers, health workers and military units to Henan to support contingency works and infrastructure repair.
