Although the obstacles imposed by the epidemiological situation have influenced the continuity of the hotel works, there has been progress, especially on Cayo Cruz, a region blessed by natural potentialities.
According to Cadena Agramonte, local authorities granted major importance to the reinforcement of protocols and biosecurity measures to prevent Covid-19 among workers and thus contain the pandemic in the region.
On the coast, about 100 kilometers north of the provincial capital, there is a continuous follow-up and monitoring by Public Health authorities of operators and workers.
During the tour of the tourist facilities on Cayo Cruz, the representatives of the provincial government assessed the hotels that are currently being commercialized, in addition to others that are in the completion and delivery phase.
Cayo Cruz, whhere over 26,300 rooms will be built by 2030, is on its way to become one of the main areas for sun and beach tourism in Cuba, a mainstay for the domestic economy.
Likewise, in view of the complex health situation, the Ministry of Social Security and Labor is seeking with this type of projects alternative jobs that will boost the growth of tourism in that coastal area.
