Prosecutors considered that Barrack worked together with others to influence on Trump’s foreign policies during his 2016-2020 election campaigns in favor of UAE.
Tom Barrack, 74, chair of former President Donald Trump’s 2017 inaugural committee, was arrested Tuesday in California on charges alleging that he and others conspired to influence Trump’s foreign policy positions.
Barrack is also accused of failing to register as a foreign agent, conspiracy, obstruction of justice and four counts of making false statements to the FBI.
According to the indictment, Trump’s ally and two other defendants – including an Emirati person – took advantage to provide intel to a foreign government, CNN reported.
