Andreas Gontermann, chief economist at the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (ZVEI), pointed out about the issue that a year ago, the sector collapsed by more than a fifth due to Covid-19.
According to the German entity, exports to Spain, France and Italy were the ones that further grew, and leaps in those aimed to the United States also appeared.
In the first five months of 2021, exports amounted to 89.4 billion euros, almost 12 percent higher than a year ago. The growth now makes up for the losses in 2020, Gontermann said.
