With these figures, Cuba has accumulated 294,449 contagions with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, and 2,019 deaths since the pandemic broke out in the country on March 11, 2020, Dr. Francisco Duran, national director of Epidemiology at the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), explained at his daily press briefing on television.
The expert explained that 59,755 people are in hospitals nationwide, including 18,790 suspected cases, 5,348 under epidemiological surveillance and 35,617 active patients with the coronavirus.
Today, 35,293 people are clinically stable, 147 are in a critical condition and 176 are seriously ill.
Dr. Duran informed that most Covid-19 patients in Cuba are the result of high autochthonous contagions in nearly the entire country.
Only the Isla de la Juventud special municipality has not reported Covid-10 cases for a month.
