Lerner pointed out that ‘the dissemination of fake news and cyber interventions to create panic or social anxiety are applied by economic powers to the detriment of countries that do not have the means to mitigate their devastating effects and are condenable acts of abuse and interventionism’.
He indicated that this type of operation has also been implemented in Peru, during the recent electoral campaign, when ‘the most miserable weapons of lies, persecutions and discrimination were used against progressive candidates Veronica Mendoza and Pedro Castillo’.
Lerner was asked about the denounced interference of the United States in the gestation of disturbances in Cuba, through the injection of funds to finance subversion.
The prominent businessman considered it wise that in Cuba ‘the demands of the population are attended to immediately,’ a governmental action that responds to the demands of its people.
Regarding the July 11 riots, Lerner pointed out that there were demonstrations of unrest ‘in some few places of the country due to power outages and food shortages, so dissident and opposition elements took advantage of it.’
