In a pronouncement regarding the recent aggressions against Cuba, which led to riots on that country, Handal expressed ‘the most active and militant solidarity’ of Salvadoran revolutionaries.
‘The Revolution is the Cuban people, and from here we stand in solidarity with them, with their leaders and their historic legacy of heroism and dignity,’ noted the son of the historic leader of the left in El Salvador, Schafik Handal.
Numerous voices in El Salvador denounced the incidents on July 11 in several Cuban localities, hit by the economic crisis derived from the US blockade and the peak of Covid-19 cases.
The Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front reiterated in a communiqué its support to the ‘people who resist and fight in an exemplary and patriotic manner against all imperial attempts to intervene in their internal affairs.’
In turn, the community of Cubans living in El Salvador also issued a statement condemning the escalation of US aggressions, especially in the current context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
