In a letter to President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the triumph of the Sandinista Revolution, the two leaders assured that Cuba will maintain its support for Nicaragua in the context of aggressions by the United States.
‘Marti and Fidel’s socialist Cuba, with its irrevocable solidarity and internationalist commitment, will continue marching together with the Nicaraguan people, who, guided by you and raising the flags of Sandinismo, face the challenges of socioeconomic development in very difficult conditions, given the interfering hostility of imperialism’, the text reads.
On Monday, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez also congratulated Nicaragua on the anniversary of its revolution, and extended fraternal hugs to President Ortega on Twitter.
According to press reports, thousands of Nicaraguans welcomed with a vigil the 42nd anniversary of the triumph of the Sandinista Popular Revolution in Managua’s Plaza de la Fe.
