Three young representatives from the island joined a choir of 300 children from the host country, Colombia, Mexico, Pakistan, Zimbabwe and other nationalities who performed the iconic song We are The World in English and Embrace The Future in Mandarin.
The latter song is part of the compositions that accompany the preparations for the event, to be held from February 4 to 20, 2022. The organizers of the event aimed to strengthen cultural exchanges and mutual knowledge between the new generations of China and other countries of the planet.
In February 2018, Beijing took over the sports cycle and the spectacle offered in the handover was a prelude to what is planned to leave its legacy as the only city on the planet to host both variants of the international event.
The Chinese capital, its outlying district of Yanqing and the neighboring city of Zhangjiakou, all in the north, will host the competitions in 26 facilities that were built under the concept of ‘modernity, innovation and sustainability’.
As the country returned to normality in 2020, its main metropolis accelerated the works and fulfilled one by one the stages agreed in the schedule.
The Asian giant has repeatedly denied these accusations and predicted the failure of a campaign aimed at politicizing the competitions.
