Journalists in Dom Rep demand support for peace in Cuba

Santo Domingo, Jul 18 (Prensa Latina) The Dominican Union of Journalists for Peace, Inc. (UDPP), on Sunday called on the Latin American people to mobilize all their living forces in support of peace in Cuba.

In a communiqué to which Prensa Latina had access, the UDPP noted that imperialism wishes to replicate the acts of violence in Cuba in the 1990s when it designed terrorist attacks on hotels and tourist centers with the same purpose as now, and to provoke disturbances to divide the country.

But the dignity of the Cuban people is measured by their iron will to resist the ruthless attacks by the cruel and heartless empire of the United States, the message added.

Likewise, the document claimed that the US Government has not succeeded and will not succeed in making the sons and daughters of Jose Marti’s Homeland surrender.

The ‘protests’ that took place in several regions of the country in the last week, were aimed at creating the false notion that there was an incident against authorities and the end of socialism is looming in Cuba.

The text also pointed out that the Government of President Miguel Diaz-Canel, along with his heroic people, Army General Raul Castro, the infinite memory of immortal Fidel and the support of all Latin American people, will know how to maintain the achievements that have cost so much blood and pain, due to the merciless cruelty of imperialism.

Finally, the Journalists for Peace stated that Cuba is not alone and it will never be, all honest men and women of the planet are demanding to leave Cuba alone.

Only the Cubans must overcome their difficulties in the spirit of the Grand American Revolution. Long live Cuba! Down with corrupt and immoral imperialism that seeks to destroy the dignity of our brothers!, the text concluded.
