Raúl Castro leads central event rejecting interference in Cuba (+Photos)

Havana, Jul 17 (Prensa Latina) Army General Raúl Castro and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel are presiding over a central event Saturday in Cuba´s capital in order to call for the end of attempts to destabilize the nation.

At La Piragua, close to Havana´s Malecón, over 100,000 Cuban people also involved in the central event to demand the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for nearly 60 years, regarded as major drawback for Cuba´s economic progress.

The central event, exceptionally called amid present epidemiological circumstances due to the Covid-19 pandemic, takes into account the request of broad sectors of Cuban society who long for expressing their condemnation of Jul. 11 riots conducted in several regions of the country.

Cuba´s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez accused this week the US Government of using high-tech tools and lies to generate instability and protests in Cuba.
