In a public statement, the Communist Party condemned external pressure on Cuba, previously expressed on their social networks after the July 11 riots.
The text, signed by the Communist Party’s Central Committee, lashed out at ‘the tightening of coercive measures and blockade’ imposed by the United States.
It also noted Washington’s criminal accountability ‘when attempting to prevent Cuba from acquiring pivotal supplies to fight the Covid-19 pandemic and safeguard the right to health of the Cuban people.’
The party ratified its categorical rejection of the US blockade against Cuba and ‘all interventionism and foreign interference, and we also call for unrestricted respect for the sovereign right of the Cuban people to define their own destiny and its self-determination’
