Dr. Francisco Duran, national director of Epidemiology at MINSAP, stated that 43,434 active patients are in hospitals nationwide, including 305 who are being treated in intensive care units, 171 who are seriously ill and 131 who are in a critical condition.

The total number of contagions since March 2020 has risen to 269,607.

In his regular press briefing on television, the expert dded that 4,520 people were discharged from Cuban hospitals on Thursday, so the number of recuperated patients rose to 224,265.

Dr. Duran regretted the deaths of 65 people in the last 24 hours, so the death toll increased to 1,791.

Cuba’s chief epidemiologist informed that more than 7.9 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine candidates Abdala (CIGB-66) and Soberana 02 have been administered in Cuba through different forms of research, such as health intervention, intervention study and clinical trials.
