On a communiqué, Gonsalves assured that his State opposes imperialism’s attempts to take advantage of Cubans’ current difficulties to destroy the Revolution and roll back its achievements.

The PM described as ‘inhuman, harsh, unilateral and illegal’ US government´s sanctions against Cuba, and expressed that in this context no reasonable person can accept the ‘imperial, hypocritical and selfish defense’ of a humanitarian intervention.

Referring to the recent disturbances in Cuban territory, Gonsalves advocated maintaining ‘calm and peace while the government and the people seek to address in a focused manner their difficulties and challenges.’

The leader also urged imperialism and its internal and external allies to cease their nefarious activities against that nation.

The head of the Government of San Vicente ratified his solidarity with the people and authorities of Cuba, and defended their right to choose their own path of development.

He also demanded the end of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, which has been tightened under the past Trump administration with 243 punitive measures.
