Addressing Radio Nacional de España (RNE), Belarra recalled that her administration has defended to the United Nations, along with 183 other countries, its rejection to the blockade against Cuba.
Belarra, who is also Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda and leader of Podemos party, stressed that the Cubans have been suffering an economic blockade for 60 years that has caused an ‘absolutely exceptional’ political and humanitarian situation.
She insisted that lifting the blockade is the best way to help the Cubans live better.
In another part of the interview with RNE, the 33-year-old minister clarified that her words do not correspond to an agreement between the PSOE (socialists) and the Unidas Podemos group.
