In a statement issued on Wednesday, cabinet members said they had unanimously decided to continue supporting Muhyiddin.
They added that each government decision was taken collectively, after taking into account the views of all parties.
Last week, UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced that the party had withdrawn its support to Muhyiddin’ s government, while urging the prime minister to resign.
UMNO is the main force in Malaysian Parliament, having 38 members from 222 seats, while the ruling coalition (Bersatu) has 31.
There are also more than a dozen ministers and vice ministers who are members of UMNO party, some of whom have publicly spoken out against a breach under the current circumstances.
