This is a section of his daily morning briefing that has caused bitterness in the press that opposes his administration.
The president discussed the avalanche of false, distorted and biased information against the Cuban government by highlighting the outbreaks of riots in some parts of the country with clear political objectives.
Lopez Obrador was one of the first presidents in the world to denounce and expose the media campaign against Cuba and coarse shams such as the one staged in Mexico by the Articulo 19 agency, financed by the Embassy of the Unied States, by including images of demonstrations in Egypt as if they had occurred in Havana.
He mentioned Mexican conservatives and others that protested in front of the Cuban Embassy, the kind of people who pretend to be human rights champions and what they seek and do is the opposite, and incite confrontations like that in front of the embassy.
Fortunately, he said, there were no major consequences, but there were insults against Cuba and its diplomats. One of them was aggressive and disrespectful to Cubans. And it came from the president of a human rights commission, a scholar, a supposedly educated man who did not know what he was saying, but his racism makes him take these attitudes.
This is a type of behavior, he said, that cannot be a role model. Is that the new middle class that is in the making? We must live with morals, with ethical fraternity, to be able to create a better society.
