The text by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid held a meeting on Sunday in Brussels, Belgium. During the meeting, Shoukry deemed necessary to move urgently to break the current stalemate between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
In addition, the head of Egyptian diplomacy stressed that a future negotiating process must be based on international regulations to guarantee the establishment of a Palestinian state in the June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He stated that this dialogue is one of the main components to strengthen the pillars of security and stability in the region.
