According to the legislator, Fantinato issued a technical notice to the states recommending vaccinating pregnant women who had received the first dose of AstraZeneca’s vaccine with any other vaccine available, without no proof of safety whatsoever.
According to the Senate, when Minister Marcelo Queiroga made a statement to the investigative group on June 8th, the matter generated an argument between the two.
Alencar pointed out that the fact was very serious, and people ‘must not be used as Guinea Pigs’. He also called the attention to the fact that Pfizer’s vaccine has a disclaimer not to be used on pregnant women.
Fantinato’s discharge was made public on June 30th at the Official Bulletin of the Union. According to Queiroga, she requested her own resignation.
