At a telematic press conference attended by Gonzalez Laya, Mayta and Bolivian Minister of Health, Jeyson Auza, both sides praised the excellent state of bilateral ties.
With journalists connected virtually, both in Madrid and in La Paz, including Prensa Latina, the foreign ministers expressed their willingness to strengthen collaboration to completely go back to normal after the pandemic.
The head of Bolivian diplomacy thanked the government of Spain for a donation of a rapid test kit to detect Covid-19, drugs, artificial respirators and sedatives urgently required by Bolivia.
‘We received the helping hand of our Spanish brothers who reacted quickly at a critical moment in Bolivia. A country that had to endure the usurping regime more than a year ago and is now returning to its historical normality,’ Mayta noted.
The foreign minister recalled the diplomatic ties existing since 1847, except for the disastrous chapter of the coup junta, whereas Dr. Auza, Minister of Health, praised the spirit of solidarity between the two nations.
For her part, Arancha Gonzalez Laya, commented on the effort made by both parties to materialize the donation, worth more than two million euros and with Boliviana de Aviacion’s relevant role for its transfer.
