‘This is the worst day during the entire pandemic in our country that has already accumulated 281,376 contagions with the virus since March 11, 2020, and 1,431 deaths,’ the national director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Duran, said in his daily press briefing on television.
So far, 44,970 patients are in hospitals nationwide, including 15,310 suspected cases, 8,569 under epidemiological surveillance and 21,091 active patients with the virus.
In order to detect the virus, 39,101 PCR tests were performed on Wednesday in Cuba, so the total number of those tests since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country totals 5,408,011.
