The Government explained that by 2025, the country will have more specialized centers, promotional actions will increase and new technologies will be linked to this form of healing, considered one of the heritage treasures in the nation.
In addition, the primary and secondary school’s syllabuses will include content on Chinese traditional medicine in order to introduce the new generations to the culture of this practice.
Since China’s foundation as a republic in 1949, the Chinese Government has supported the development of traditional medicine and complemented its application with Western procedures to strengthen the people’s health security and, at the same time, reverse the skepticism about this form of healing.
For example, a 2016 law ordered the proper qualification of practitioners, and established special protection for formulas considered state secrets and medicinal resources, which implies growing rare and endangered species without toxic pesticides, and the supervision of raw materials.
China reported that in the next five years it will establish a system of recycling resources as part of the efforts to achieve neutrality of carbon dioxide emissions by 2060.
According to reports, the country’s energy and water consumption per unit of gross domestic product will be reduced by 13.5 percent and 16 percent, respectively, by 2025.
In contrast, the amount of reused paper waste will increase to 60 million tons, and steel scrap will rise to 320 million tons.
