According to The Hill, landing in a key Illinois swing district, Biden visited McHenrry County College in Crystal Lake, a community college with a workforce development program and a child-care center.
In addition, President Biden promoted his proposal to generate investments in research and development jobs, and also in climate actions focused on clean energies.
These are aspects expected in the massive plan for jobs and families that Democrats hope to approve in Congress through the so-called ¨reconciliation process¨.
‘No challenge is as urgent as climate change,’ he said, pointing to the extreme heat, record drought, wildfires and tornados around the U.S.
From 2010 to 2020, Illinois has experienced 49 extreme weather events, the Democratic president recalled, and criticized various politicians´ stances trying to deny the reality of climate change and global warming.
With a marked electoral goal, Biden´s trip to Illinois marks a new focus on parts of his economic agenda that were not included in the bipartisan infrastructure agreement signed last June.
