Broad Front (FA) Senator Graciela Villar summarized her political party’s criteria that apparently ‘the austerity shock’ of the figures presented was for all Uruguayans ‘except for them’, in reference to ‘top officials.’
FA legislator Nicolas Lorenzo described that benefit to the group of the so-called trusted officials as a mistake ‘at a time when the hand was put in the workers’ pockets to fight the pandemic and the economic crisis.’
For her part, legislator Bettiana Diaz objected that due to few funds allocated, the Supreme Court of Justice will not implement the agreed creation of some courts for gender-based violence within the country.
The Chamber of Deputies has 45 days ahead to adopt as a first resort of the corresponding bill of more than 300 articles presented by the Executive Power.
