The conversation took place through video conference and among the topics they discussed were international trade, environmental protection, biodiversity and bilateral relations, according to a statement from Merkel’s office quoted by international media.

The three heads of state also discussed cooperation in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the global supply of vaccines, and other international and regional problems, according to the German statement.
