Heartfelt condolences for the death of Rosa Reyes, a great friend of Cuba and president of the organization, the foreign minister wrote on his Twitter account.

Rodríguez recalled Reyes’s contribution to the battles for the return of child Elian Gonzalez, the five Cuban anti-terrorists sentenced to lengthy and unjust prison terms in the United States, and the end of Washington’s blockade against Cuba.

The Alianza Martiana Coalition, made up of the Antonio Maceo Brigade, Alianza Martiana (as an individual organization), the José Martí Cultural Association, the Bolivarian Circle of Miami, Negra Hipólita; the Association of Women and Radio Miami, also expressed tribute to Rosa Reyes’s life’s work.
