It also points out that its application will help promote the unity and cohesion of Russian society, achieve national development goals, and increase competitiveness and international prestige.
The text defines and rules the country’s interests and strategic priorities, as well as the objectives and measures of internal and external policy to strengthen national security and guarantee long-term sustainable development.
The previous version of the strategy came into effect on December 31, 2015, and the new one was endorsed in late May this year by the National Security Council and underlines the need to increase predictability, confidence and security in the international arena.
