The minister denounced the ‘irresponsible behavior of some officials in Kabul’ and the significance of such actions for the future and security of the country, Sputnik news agency reported.
Russia, he said, is holding consultations in the Collective Security Treaty Organization to protect Central Asian countries ‘from the direct and very serious threat’ posed by the strengthening of ISIS, especially in northern Afghanistan
‘It is there that Afghanistan shares a border with countries that are our allies,’ such as Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, Lavrov said, assuring that his country supports the progress of negotiations with the Taliban movement to establish an interim government.
