On his official Twitter account, the president highlighted a recent ceremony in this capital to commemorate the foundation of China’s party, in which the friendship, solidarity and collaboration ties between both countries were lauded.
On Thursday, Diaz-Canel, who is also first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), sent a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
In the letter, he conveyed his ‘fraternal congratulations’ on the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the party and claimed that ‘no other socialism construction process has succeeded in exceeding seven decades.’
‘China and its party have proven that it is possible to envisage sustainable development with sovereignty, independence and deep convictions,’ Diaz-Canel pointed out.
In the letter, the head of State said that relations between the two countries’ parties have reached full maturity due to political trust, the exchange of experiences, equality and mutual respect.
He also reiterated the firm support from the Cuban people, the PCC and Government to the One-China principle and the condemnation of interference in that nation’s internal affairs.
