According to the president, Belarusian authorities identified ‘sleeper’ cells of terrorists, known as self-defense detachments, and charged that Germany, Ukraine, the United States, Poland and Lithuania are linked to them.
‘We have today dismantled terrorist sleeper cells,’ the head of State noted, expressing that the purpose of those groups was ‘to overthrow the regime violently,’ Belta news agency reported.
On speaking at the Belarusian Independence Day event on Friday, Lukashenko said that those detachments tried to destroy the Russian Navy’s communications center in the town of Vileyka in the region of Minsk.
He denounced that the equipment used in the attack entered the country from Ukraine and reported that all participants in the terrorist attack, including its organizers and perpretrators, were found and arrested within two days.
