Aloha Nuñez, Vice President of the Indigenous Peoples of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), announced that everything will be ready this Thursday so that the 69 municipalities, from the country’s eight states, can participate in that process, which will be led by an indigenous team.
This process is carried out for the first time according to the traditions of those peoples, after on May 27, the National Electoral Council (CNE) unanimously approved the Special Regulations to Regulate the Election of Legislators and Councilors by the Indigenous Representation.
As stipulated, the community assemblies, where those spokespersons will be definitively chosen, will be held on November 26, five days after the national elections.
The Regulation establishes that the election system will be under the nominal modality, by the system of relative majority of votes, which will be carried out manually, through ballots and other electoral instruments the CNE will issue.
