The Communist Party of China (CPC) considers so on such an important date as today, when we are celebrating the centenary of its founding. It is an opportunity to deepen the exchange of experiences on the construction of a socialist society, Zhang told Prensa Latina.
In these six decades of relations between China and Cuba, the friendship between both peoples, parties and governments has been built and cultivated by the historic generations of both revolutions, the diplomat highlighted.
Chinese and Cuban leaders made the decision to establish diplomatic relations in 1960, making Cuba the first country in the Western Hemisphere to recognize the new China, she added.
Thanks to this legacy, relations between China and Cuba withstood the test of time and complex international circumstances, and achieved fruitful development in all areas, the diplomat said.
At present, she noted, the leadership of both countries maintains a fluid exchange, in which they reach consensus on the main goals for the development of bilateral relations in the new era.
The CPC leadership has said that it will deepen the unswerving friendship between the two peoples, and will work for the common welfare in the efforts to build a socialist system, Zhang Yiwen concluded.
