So far, as part of such program, over 25,000 Venezuelans from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Mexico, Martinique, Bonaire, Italy, Spain, Belarus, and Trinidad and Tobago have come back.
President Nicolas Maduro activated the flights of Consorcio Venezolano de Industrias Aeronauticas y Servicios Aereos (CONVIASA) to support the ‘Vuelta a la Patria Plan’ in the voluntary return of Venezuelan nationals, victims of xenophobia and adverse economic conditions abroad, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a new group of Venezuelans is expected to arrive in the upcoming hours in another CONVIASA flight from Guayaquil.
The return of those citizens is being carried out under the protocols indicated by the sanitary authority, which include the application of PCR tests, disinfection posts, mandatory use of facemasks and the observance of social distancing during the trip.
