Iraqi prime minister to call for US troop’s withdrawal

Baghdad, Jun 30 (Prensa Latina) Iraq's Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi will send the United States a request from political groups in his country for the immediate withdrawal of US troops, Al-Maalomah highlighted on Wednesday.

Al-Kazemi accepted these requests, following the US bombing against positions of the Popular Mobilization Units (al-Hashd al-Shaabi, in Arabic) that the popular opinion describes as a violation of the national sovereignty.

The source stated that Hadi al-Amiri, head of the Fatah Alliance, gave the prime minister a message signed by other parliamentary groups, in which they demand the immediate withdrawal of the US military forces from Iraq.

Subsequently, al-Kazemi criticized the behavior by the Pentagon representatives and described the attacks against al-Hashd al-Shaabi as incorrect.

In January 2020, the Iraqi Congress approved a bill requiring the withdrawal of foreign troops from the country, especially those from the United States.
